Reaching the World for Jesus Christ

How to Go to Heaven

Do you want to spend eternity in Heaven?

Are you looking for Hope, Love, and Meaning in life?

There are some things that you should know:
1. God loves you.  John 3:16 "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  Because of God's love for all, He desires that you have an unbroken fellowship with Him.

2. We are ALL Sinners.  Isaiah 53:6 "All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."  All persons are sinners in that they disobey God.  Sin is choosing your own way.

3. Sin Separates us from God. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."  Sin forms a barrier between you and God. You cannot enter into unbroken fellowship with God due to your sin.  Instead of spending an eternity with Christ in Heaven, you, through your sin, choose to spend an eternity separated from God in a place the Bible calls Hell.

4. You can't save yourself.   Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourself; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."  People often think that their efforts can overcome the "sin" barrier.  That is not true!  Salvation is a gift of God.  Nothing you can do is good enough nor is there any way to earn God's salvation.

5. God sent His Son Jesus to remove the "Sin" barrier.   Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Jesus' death on the cross removed the "sin" barrier between you and God.  Jesus died for your sins, taking upon Himself the punishment you deserved.  God did for you in Jesus, what you cannot do for yourself!

6. You can receive Jesus Christ through faith.   Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."   Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you on the cross rather than trusting in your own efforts to have a relationship with God.  It involves making Jesus the permanent leader of your life.   Faith leads to repentance, genuine sorrow for sin and a willingness to turn away from sin.

7. Through prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ.   Admit to God that you are a sinner.  Express sorrow or repentance (turn back from your sin & turn to Jesus) for your sinfulness.  Ask Him to forgive you of your sins.  Trust Jesus by inviting Him to become the permanent leader of your life.   Thank Him for saving you from an eternity in Hell.  Commit yourself to live for Him the rest of your life.
